Destiny Review 2. Application for "Shooter of the Year"
Introduction
The players liked the first part of the Destiny game, but there was a feeling that some moments were not completely brought to the ideal. The side quests seemed boring, the grind was annoying in some places, and in general, although users loved the game, sales clearly speak about this, but there were complaints. And, the developers took all this into account and made the game exactly the way we would like to see and feel it.
I am a zealous supporter of everything interesting and cool on the market for gaming products, and if I can see something really suitable, I will definitely tell you about it. Yes, we did a little delay with Destiny 2 review, but if you haven’t played it yet or doubted, then this review will help you to leave doubts behind and decide whether to take it or not. Now let's see what I shot there and why I liked it so much.
Story line
I was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully the cut scenes were drawn by the developers. This is not some short videos for five seconds that were shot soapy and horrible, but real works of art. How my heart sank when the head of the "Red Legion" Dominus Gole spoke with the Herald! And as he speaks his speech, this is horror as believable and scary!
To be honest, we usually divided the cut scenes in games into those that you want to see and those that you want to squander. Here I also wanted to scroll the game in order to see another video. This is the first time with me, but the feeling is very interesting - I don’t want to play, although it’s also cool and we’ll talk about it later, but sit down and watch a movie from the clips shot for the storyline and find out how it all ends. It is advisable to watch with popcorn in order to completely immerse yourself in the meaning.
I won’t tell you the whole story, otherwise it makes no sense to play at all, but it all starts with the fact that the Red Legion attacks the planet and with the help of some cool system takes the light from the guards. Now the Wanderer is covered in darkness, and the guards are killed, powerless and weak. Not everything is going so well with us, but we manage to survive and our journey begins here - the goal is to defeat the Legion, but how can we defeat it without our own strength?
In addition to the main storyline, which is very cool made and shot just five out of five, I want to note the voice acting and dialogue of the characters. You run through the tunnels in search of scavengers, and they tell you some important points via radio communication, joke, give tips and broadcast about the objectives of the mission. The characters look with a piercing gaze, you can feel the emotions, experiences of even minor heroes, and I want to read the dialogues. Yes, this is very rare lately, but the dialogs here are really good.
The storyline turned out to be simply gorgeous, I haven’t been so happy for interesting stories, scenes and dialogs for a long time, so for this we give the game the highest score and move on.
Side quests
As one American youtuber said, there are no unnecessary activities in Destiny 2. Here, even minor quests are worked out at a high level and there is a feeling that you are not stupidly running through the levels for the sake of some objects or something like that, but you are really doing things useful for society. Moreover, the developer presents side quests in such a way that you don’t even think that this is secondary content.
You know, in most modern games, additional quests are introduced just so that you spend more time on passing. We will talk about this parameter later, but the point is that once the developers added these quests for the sake of the user’s interest, for the sake of telling a story and so on. Now this is only observed in The Witcher, and now in Destiny 2 they implemented it well. You go through additional missions and listen to dialogues, stories, learn something new, help restore communications or clean up the area that survivors will then use.
Moreover, participation in such tasks gives you the opportunity to raise your level, find resources and items of equipment. This is an important point, because if you just go along the storyline without completing secondary quests, then your equipment, strength and level will be close to what is necessary for completing the quest along the storyline. If you run on side quests, come to public events and shoot at monsters just for fun, then you will have a good margin in terms of strength and level for each plot task.
For secondary tasks and stories, as well as for their implementation, we put the game a big plus. For quite some time I have not seen a game in which such tasks would be interesting and important for the player, which would captivate and make you worry. Here it is, for which thanks - to play so much more interesting than go-kill-bring-get experience.
Multiplayer
Battles in the network turned out to be very peppy and active, this is not a game where you just sit in one place on the map and shoot at enemies, no. Many modes make the game multifaceted and unstable, you can not choose any one tactic of the game and so fight constantly. In one mode, you need to kill enemies and thus gain an advantage, and whoever has more kills - he won. In another mode, you need to alternately put a charge and defend it, then attack and take off the charge.
The cards are not very large, so in battles four by four places are enough just enough for you to get to the thick of things in five seconds. Here you will not run on the map for long runs in search of enemies, it is very easy to find a shootout and for this I liked the multiplayer very much - you shoot and fight most of the game, rather than running and hiding from enemies. After some online shooters, where campers and other not-so-active players can spend ten minutes at a single point and this doesn’t interfere with playing, this product was very pleased.
But with opponents it’s not always lucky - most of my enemies, and allies, played absolutely badly. And, it's not just about shooting, but also about tactics. Despite the fact that I played at level 7 with guys of level 20, which means that they are already far from the first time, they played terribly. For example, no one can shoot - it is quite easy to attack two opponents at once, kill one and almost kill the second while you die. Or, I notice how my ally runs right behind the enemy with 10% of their lives and does not kill him, because he can’t get almost a meter away. Yes, there were normal enemies and allies also came across nice, but there is a feeling that they are playing from the gamepad, and I have keyboards and mice.
Multiplayer dilutes the colors of a single game and personally I periodically go to shoot with real people. The storyline does not bother at all, but sometimes you want to go in and give heat to the enemies of the real world, this is also nice. Yes, and bonuses for online give good, to be honest.
Graphic arts
Graphics Destiny 2 is worthy of the rating "magnificent." This year there were many beautiful games, some, however, were terribly optimized, but the graphics there were beautiful. And, maybe Destiny 2 could not stand the brain for me and my video card, but I also did not notice any problems with textures or shadows. I really liked the attention to detail at each location - it is clear that the designers did not just draw tunnels and corridors, but also thought about small moments like boxes, plants, drawings, some additional elements of decoration.
Given the enormity of the virtual world and the fact that there is really a lot of everything located here, each building is a mini-location and because of this, exploring the world is doubly interesting. You go into the ruined building, there is a tunnel, from the tunnel you find yourself on a lawn with a dozen enemies, kill it all, move on, see a hefty enemy and five more less, fight and find a cool loot, run back. It is so exciting that completing secondary tasks or just studying the map turns from boring dashes into a really exciting process.
Separately, it is worth noting the variety of gaming locations. There are really a lot of them, they are quite stylishly drawn, for example, I really liked the location with platforms above the water - you jump on the bridges, and the ocean splashes below and you understand that wherever you look, there is water everywhere. This is creepy, a little, because falling from such a height into the abyss will obviously not bring joy to the hero, and because of this, immersion in the process becomes even deeper, more detailed.
You can talk about effects even longer - they are beautiful, smooth, fire from the barrel of an assault rifle sometimes blocks the sight of a weapon, if you just hold down the fire key, grenades explode coolly and so on. There are so many little things in terms of graphics that bring aesthetic pleasure that sometimes it is very problematic to break away and I sometimes noticed that I did not have time to screen beautiful moments, because I just stare.
Items
The items in the game are dark and dark, sorting out all the elements of equipment and weapons will be quite problematic and it takes time. For example, so that you understand that a character has three types of weapons in his hands, plus an assistant you can “dress up” in different skins that provide special functions, plus five types of equipment - for the head, arms, body, legs and back. You already understand that there are many variations, but that is not all.
Each weapon is of several types - energy, power, and so on, plus some trunks have their own “element”, plus there are additional bonuses different - some have better firing accuracy, some have vertical recoil. For example, destiny 2 mida multi tool boost received a lot of positive reviews. In order to choose your ideal set of equipment, you will need to really try and look through hundreds of weapons options. It will constantly change, you will constantly adapt to new types of weapons, sights and features, so yes, it’s really cool.
There are even more outfits - the hero is given so many options for armor that his head goes round after five hours of play, and then it becomes even larger and it’s worth watching not only strength, but also additional effects and other details. Because of this, playing is more interesting, since each item found becomes a real discovery and you will study, compare, search and buy all this.
Total: 10/10
Many world publications call Destiny 2 the best shooter of this year, and I completely agree with this opinion. The developer created his product at the junction of the shooter and RPG genres, drew a very fascinating and beautiful virtual world with hundreds, thousands of combinations of equipment and weapons, added a really interesting storyline and even minor quests here carry their significance and, of course, they are worth going through. Considering that most modern shooters are ordinary shooters with a 4-hour plot, and then a dull multiplayer, this game is so stand out that you even wonder where the developers have so much audacity - not every studio can create something like this in the current market of computer games.
In addition to my feelings, users are now still interested in such moments as the duration of the storyline. That is, how much you go through the plot. Agree, if the game is cool, but the plot is there for four hours of the game, then it is difficult to call such a purchase considered. Here I played at a measured pace, that is, I was in no hurry, I didn’t run past side quests, I didn’t try to skip dialogs and cut scenes. As a result, in four days of a very active game, I felt, like, about a third of the storyline, maybe even less.
Naturally, if your goal is to simply run through the plot without fighting in multiplayer and not paying attention to cut scenes and additional quests, then you can go through the game for 20 hours, or maybe faster, but what's the point then. This game was created so that you bought it and enjoyed it for a very long time - thoughtfully went through the plot, then fought in multiplayer and went to raids, played in multiplayer with friends and enjoyed new items, collecting the perfect build for your character. This game opens up so many opportunities for entertainment that you can forget about other games in general and play only in Destiny 2. So, I can and would like to find fault, but I boldly put 10/10 and go shoot with friends. Which I advise you.
